George III Small Bureau on Stand
A delightful piece of 18th century mahogany furniture, the upper section with a hinged slant front with applied book rest opening to a leather lined writing surface and fitted interior over a mahogany-lined drawer. The stand raised on chamfered legs with pierced brackets and shaped platform. Overall, with restrained blind fret carving and bead and reel molding. Of particularly good figuring and color, all the drawers are lined in padouk which is a very unusual feature of this period.
