Rococo Carved Mirror Restored Edwards & Roberts

A finely carved and gilded two plate rococo looking glass of imposing stature with s-scrolls supporting an acanthus spray at the crest, the frame comprised of c and s-scrolls. Labelled Edwards and Roberts, a 19th century cabinetmaking firm that both made and restored period furniture.

This frame was originally set into the wall of the house it was in and so needed reinforcement when removed from the wall which is the likely reason for the label. English circa 1755. Ht. 63", W. 31" D. 7" Gilding restored.
