A magnificent fall front cabinet on stand with original japanning throughout the cabinet, having brass handles, the interior having a series of pigeonholes over a row of three drawers, over two doors, over two drawers on either side. The cabinet rests on a stand with a gilded edge on a japanned cavetto moulding over four cabriole legs, terminating in pad feet. The japanning is very unusual as it depicts paired fruits with tendrils and leaves. There is a rondel on the outside of the fall front with pagodas and people sitting by water with an ancient tree. Replaced lock. English. Circa 1690
