Pair of parcel gilt klismos armchairs
A very fine pair of Regency period painted and parcel gilt open armchairs with an unusually shaped back crest rail having carrying handles with upholstered drop in seats on klismos legs. Stamped John Gee(1779-?1824).
Gee was a London based chairmaker and turner who worked for the crown. This is the most unusual design of his that I have ever seen with the pointed crest rail and lack of any splat.
