Carved and gesso carved silver gilt mirror circa 1690.

A superb English William and Mary carved and gesso carved silver gilt looking glass crested with a feather plume bracketed by molded cresting with acanthus scrolls with carved strapwork resting on a molded and carved frame, the base having an apron of carving centered by a shell with carved acanthus and strapwork. The mirror plate is beveled to echo the shape of the frame and is original as is the gilding having minor touch-ups. Ht. 43 1/2" W. 20 1/2"Circa 1690
