Mahogany caddy top chest of drawers circa 1760

A very fine mahogany caddy top bachelor's chest of drawers having a bead molding around the top edge, over a brushing slide over two short drawers and three long drawers with original  batwing handles resting on bracket feet. English circa 1755.Ht. 30 3/4", W. 32 3/4", D. 20 1/2" 

A chest of identical form and measurements was sold by Alexander George Antiques with a label from the workshop of Giles Grendey (1693-1780). Grendey tended to label pieces that were made and shipped to clients in Europe. The similarities of the two chests seem to indicate that this was a standard model Grendey caddy top chest.
