An unusual brass frame with a flat mirror plate from the early 19th century. English circa 1825. English brass production boomed in the 18th century with developments in the smelting of zinc. This mirror with its complex molding profile of deep hollows, the molding next to the plate mimicking  typical Regency mirror forms, similar to the exterior side molding and was likely formed by the rolling process and not extruded meaning the brass was cut to length and then shaped into a circle. The glass is not original. Dia. 24", D. 1.5"
